Product Review: Lily's Sweets

Good Morning Everyone :)

I have another product review for you today and it's a good one. I think I have found my new kryptonite.

You know how much I love dark chocolate, and I recently got to try some of the best chocolate I've had in a long time. Lily's Sweets sent me 4 different flavours of their 55% cocoa, stevia-sweetened dark chocolate, and it rocked my world.

Usually I prefer chocolate that is darker than 55% because I prefer it to be intense without the sweetness. However, this chocolate has a very mild sweetness, so you can taste all of the flavour undertones without being overwhelmed by sugar. I also liked that it didn't have that bitter aftertaste that stevia-sweetened products sometimes do; they added just enough to to cut the bitterness of the cocoa and make it taste a little bit decadent.

The four flavours are: Original, Coconut, Crispy Rice and Almond. All of which are right up my alley.

I started with Crispy Rice. Do you guys remember Crunch bars? This was like a dark chocolate version of those. Although, you could tell it was fresh because the puffed rice was nice and crispy, not tough or chewy like it can be when it has been sitting for too long.

The next one I tried was Coconut. I had a feeling it would be my favourite and I was totally right. It got a little melted in the mail, so I didn't take a picture, but it was amazing! The chocolate was nice and soft, with lots of little bits of toasted coconut and the perfect amount of sweetness. I will admit that a little piece of me died when this one ran out. I know I have to get more somehow...

Almond was delicious too. It had nice big chunks of almond in it, but not so big that they took over. Like the other kinds, it wasn't too sweet and the darkness of the chocolate paired perfectly with the nuts.

Even though it didn't have fun add-ins, the Original was amazing. I figure that if chocolate is still delicious even without extra flavours and textures it must be great quality. This chocolate it smooth, satisfying and flavourful. I really want to order more now. They don't sell it in Canada, but you can get it on Vitacost or Amazon.com, so I might have to add it to an order the next time I go to buy something else. It will probably be the coconut, but I may throw in some of the others too.

In conclusion, I loved them all. Coconut was definitely my favourite, followed by the almond one, but really they were all delicious.

I hope you get to try the chocolate too, it made my life complete!

Have you tried any other brands of stevia-sweetened chocolate?
