WIAW the Second

Hi Everyone!

Well, it's Wednesday again. A day when bloggers everywhere will litter their sites with food porn just for the heck of it! Sounds pretty good to me... ;)

I have spent the past few days studying my little bum off, so my meals haven't been incredibly elaborate, but I did get it together enough this week to actually take pictures of things.

Here are a few of the nibbles I've been enjoying over the past couple of days whilst sitting at my desk and cursing Advanced Microeconomics. I wouldn't say that I made any holiday recipes per se, but I do have a lofty baking project coming up this weekend, and I can't wait!

So, I was rather excited to make my breakfast yesterday morning because of a new experiment I was waiting to try. No, I didn't have something besides oat bran, I wasn't feeling that daring ;)

When I spent over $50 at Popeye's a while back, they gave me a gift bag with a bunch of free samples, including this:

The instructions said to mix it with water (BO-RING!), but I had a better idea...

Tropical Magic Mango Oats!!

I just made my base oat bran, but substituted the SunWarrior for half the packet of the mango protein powder. Then I added 1 tablespoon of shredded coconut, 1/2 teaspoon of coconut extract and cooked it up!

It was soooo creamy and fruity and good! The mango, the coconut, the banana, oh my! I felt like I was in the Caribbean sipping on a fruity cocktail. I don't think I would buy a whole container of that protein powder because I don't like to eat too much whey, but if I see those sample packs again, I would definitely pick up a few for a treat!

I have also been eating a lot of this lately:

I love this stuff. It's really flavourful and it's full of sunflower seeds, so it's nice and filling. You're probably supposed to have it on crackers or something, but I tend to just cut it into slabs and eat away. I didn't photograph my slabs because, well, they're not the most attractive snack...

For lunch today, I made some Vegan Zucchini Noodle Bolognese with a simple "meat" sauce made from President's Choice pasta sauce, Yves veggie ground round and some hot sauce (because I like it SPICY!). It was really simple, but it did the trick.

Since I have been holed up studying in my sweatpants for about 48 hours, I have been grazing a lot. On what, you say? Random things like:

Veggies...

The mother of all carrots.
Yes, I'm a rabbit. I love just gnawing on full-sized carrots.

Some (unpictured) apples and pomegranates...

Crunchy snacks...

Plentils, Garlic and Parmesan flavour. These are so good!
Chocolate...

Bad picture, good chocolate.

Chocolate...

I officially finished my favourite flavour of the pack that
Giddy Yoyo sent me: Spicy. *tear* Let's all have a moment of silence...
More chocolate...

My roommate brought this home the other day for the two of
us to share! I love random acts of kindness; they're what
Christmas is all about. Love you Sarah,
you're the best! xo

Chocolate brownies...

Dense, fudgy brownie with a special ingredient! No, it's NOT what you're thinking,
but it is part of a product review I'm working on that will be out soon!

I finally jumped on the socca train and made it for the first time!

Vegan socca pizza with some red peppers and a slab of vegepate on the side.
I actually really liked it! Dense, filling, starchy, what's not to love? I think I'm going to work on perfecting some kind of socca-centric recipe and post it soon.

And of course, how do you "squash" a snack attack? (Teehee... I'm so punny...)

With the best squash in the world: my beloved buttercup :) Haha, I feel like Westley from The Princess Bride; I'm in love with Buttercup...

Well, there you have it, another wonderful WIAW. I hope you all have a fantastic day and a fantastic week, leading up to a fantastic weekend.

Toodles :)

What was the best thing you ate today?

How do you feed your "snack attacks"?
